Our Strategic Initiatives

Transforming Werdwot's vision into action - Practical programs advancing women's rights and climate resilience

Just as Ye Kake Werdwot turned her vision for women's rights into bold action at the Joka Court, we transform her legacy into practical initiatives that empower women and youth across Ethiopia.

Our initiatives address the interconnected challenges of gender inequality, economic empowerment, and climate change through innovative, community-led solutions.

HARVST 365 Initiative

Producing All 365 Days - A Revolutionary Approach to Modern Agriculture

The HARVST 365 Initiative represents our commitment to introducing and adapting 21st-century modern agricultural practices and technologies. This groundbreaking initiative enables women farmers to produce throughout all 365 days of the year, dramatically increasing production and productivity.

By leveraging modern farming methods, climate-smart technologies, and innovative resource management, we're transforming traditional seasonal farming into year-round food security and economic empowerment.

Through this initiative, women farmers gain access to greenhouse technologies, irrigation systems, improved seeds, and scientific farming techniques that were previously out of reach. The result is not just increased yields, but sustainable livelihoods that break the cycle of poverty and food insecurity.

Continuing Ye Kake Werdwot's Fight for Women's Dignity and Rights

We provide comprehensive support for women who have suffered harm due to sexual violence, harmful traditional practices, workplace exclusion, and social discrimination. Our programs focus on healing, empowerment, and building resilience.

Inspired by the courage of Ye Kake Werdwot who stood against injustice in 1855, we continue the fight for women's dignity and rights in modern Ethiopia.

Every survivor deserves a path to recovery and prosperity. Our integrated support system provides safe spaces, professional counseling, legal assistance, skills training, and economic opportunities— ensuring that no woman is left to face her challenges alone. We don't just help women survive; we help them thrive and become advocates for others.

Natural Resource Conservation

Building Capacity for Sustainable Resource Management

Our income-generating projects are designed with environmental sustainability at their core. We mobilize resources and build the capacity of women and youth farmers to properly conserve and manage natural resources, ensuring long-term environmental and economic sustainability.

Climate change is not just an environmental challenge—it's an economic and social justice issue that disproportionately affects women and rural communities.

Through innovative conservation practices, water management systems, soil health programs, and agroforestry initiatives, we're proving that environmental protection and economic prosperity can go hand in hand. Our farmers become stewards of the land, ensuring that future generations inherit a healthier planet.

Recognition & Scaling Initiative

Celebrating Excellence and Scaling Success

We recognize and award women farmers and entrepreneurs who have demonstrated exceptional resilience and innovation in withstanding climate change impacts. More importantly, we help these exemplary individuals scale up their experiences nationwide, creating wider employment opportunities and inspiring others.

Our recognition program goes beyond awards—it's an ecosystem of support that helps proven models expand. Award winners receive business scaling support, access to larger markets, mentorship platforms, and media visibility.

As they grow, they create jobs, mentor others, and become living proof that resilience and innovation can transform entire communities. Their success stories become blueprints for others to follow.
